FIIs net sell equities worth Rs 3,535 crore, DIIs buy Rs 5,104 crore as Nifty Bank Index hits record high
On June 26, FIIs/FPIs net sold equities worth Rs 3,535 crore while Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) net bought equities worth Rs 5,104 crore.
According to provisional data from the exchanges, FIIs bought Rs 19,921 crore and sold Rs 23,456 crore. Meanwhile, DIIs picked up Rs 18,342 crore in shares and offloaded equities worth Rs 13,239 crore in the session.
At close, the Sensex was up 620.73 points or 0.80 percent at 78,674.25, and the Nifty was up 147.50 points or 0.62 percent at 23,868.80.
BSE Sensex and Nfity50 indices hit new record highs of 78,759.40 and 23,889.90, respectively.
The Nifty Bank index also hit a fresh record high as it went closer to 53,000.

"Sentiment for banking and financials has improved after lower current account deficit numbers released yesterday. Overall optimism surrounding the Union Budget, increasing FII inflows, and robust domestic economic data contributed towards the positive movement in the market. We expect the ongoing uptrend to continue further," said Siddhartha Khemka, Senior Group VP, Head - Research, Broking & Distribution, Motilal Oswal Financial Services.
In the year so far, FIIs have net bought shares worth Rs 119,704
crore, while DIIs have bought shares worth Rs 239,048
crore at the same time.
