Brandon Aiyuk Roasts 49ers Amid Contract Talks
The ongoing drama between Brandon Aiyuk and the San Francisco 49ers took another turn on Tuesday with the All-Pro receiver calling the team out for reported trade talks with the Washington Commanders.
On Monday, ESPN's Adam Schefter revealed the Commanders and 49ers had discussions over Aiyuk at one point, but in the end, the Commanders decided not to do the deal.
Schefter has been consistent in his reporting that the 49ers want to keep Aiyuk, but both sides have yet to agree on a deal.
However, it doesn't sound like Aiyuk is buying it after hearing of the possible trade discussion between the 49ers and Commanders. He responded to a social media post on the subject on Tuesday.
"But I thought the niners was never tryna trade me?" Aiyuk posted.
This all comes a day after Aiyuk called for a face-to-face meeting with the team to discuss his uncertain contract situation.

Aiyuk is set to become a free agent in 2025, but it's no surprise that he's looking for long-term security, especially after posting a career-high 1,342 receiving yards last season.
His play on the field proves he's one of the best receivers in the league, but he has yet to get a massive contract extension, despite seeing others, like Justin Jefferson, Amon-Ra St. Brown, A.J. Brown and Jaylen Waddle get their money.
What initially seemed like a minor problem is quickly growing into something that might be unsalvageable for the 49ers.
