North East sportswear brand launches clothing line from new HQ

A North East sportswear brand has launched its new line from its headquarters this month.
Discipline Clothing launched at its headquarters in Redcar on the seafront, in place of the old Manhattan’s nightclub, on Sunday, December 17.
The company exhibited its new line of sportswear geared towards both men and women.
The new clothing features training tops, T-shirts, hoodies, caps, tracksuits, sports bras, leggings, and funnel tops.
Steven Green, chief executive officer at Discipline, said they began making clothes such as tops and hats seven years ago and the venture had always been something he wanted to “take more seriously”.

The former two times triathlon record holder said: “It’s about being the best that you can be, a brand with a meaning, having a good attitude, wanting to work hard, wanting to progress.
“It’s based around the models that we teach of being the best version of yourself.
“I’ve always been highly into fitness, a few years ago [2020], I did the first world record, and then I did a second one last year, a Guinness world record.
“We push our team, it’s the whole ethos of being fit, being healthy, getting yourself out of your comfort zone.”
The company is headed by Mr Green alongside director Gemma Sharples, a triathlete and ultra runner who broke his Guinness world record last year.

He said the brand’s name choice is often talked about on social media with ‘discipline’ being a keyword used by those seeking success.
The brand are working with athletes such as professional Darlington-born boxer Troy Williamson, former MMA champion Martin Stapleton, boxer April Hunter, and motorcycle racer Joe Francis.
Mr Green said he wished to give back to the local area and have signed up three models to sport the brand’s sportswear.

Adding to this, he said the company believes it will create around 30 jobs in the area.
He added the clothing will initially be available to purchase online.
They said the company brought in director, Eric Williams, who had previously worked for Mike Ashley, 18 months ago to help launch the brand.
