Holi 2024: Memes That Perfectly Sum Up The Festive Vibes

The time has come to splash your near and dear ones with the colour of happiness. Yes, the much-awaited festival— Holi, is knocking at the doors. People in India have already indulged in buying gulaal, pigmented powders, and other Holi-related equipment like water balloons and pichkaris to enjoy the occasion with friends, family, and relatives. While some are hesitant to get drenched in hues that become difficult to remove, others are simply unbothered to get stained, flaunting the multiple shades for weeks. A few attend Bollywood-inspired Holi parties, happening across several places in their respective cities.

With the masses eagerly waiting for the festival of colours, social media has already been flooded with Holi-related memes. Let’s take a look at some of them on X (Formerly Twitter).

Showcasing the different ways women and men play Holi, a user drew comparisons between a picture of Deepika Padukone, taken from the film still of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, and the other of Rajpal Yadav from the movie Bhool Bhulaiyaa.

In another parallel video representation, an individual jokingly pointed out that while women usually play with herbal and skin-friendly colours, that too in a sophisticated manner, men tend to use harmful and toxic colours like the difficult-to-remove silver shade. “How girls and boys play Holi” read the textual layout on the clip.

A similar illustration captured two wholly different snaps where a group of women was seen clicking a group selfie with little Holi colour on their cheeks and hair. Meanwhile, beside them, there was a snap of a man whose entire face was smeared with a silvery and muddy hue.

Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan’s Holi song sequence in the film Badrinath Ki Dulhania inspired an individual to play Holi with their partner like the two celebrities. “Urge to play Holi with him like this,” read the caption.

Some companies do not grant leave to their employees even on public holidays like Holi. On that note, a person dropped a Kal Ho Naa Ho film scene, featuring Shah Rukh Khan. “When Your friend says tumhari to HOLI ki chutti hogi na (you are going to have a holiday on Holi no)?” the write-up read.
