Tony Romo has carved out quite a career for himself in the broadcasting world. The CBS analyst quickly rose up the ranks after retiring from the game, working his way to become Jim Nantz’s right-hand man on CBS’ top NFL broadcasting team.

Now, Romo is bringing his talents to the biggest stage, as CBS is set to broadcast Super Bowl 58 between the Chiefs and 49ers from Las Vegas.

It’s not the first time Romo has been on the call for the biggest game of the year. He and Nantz called Super Bowl 53 between the Patriots and Rams and Super Bowl 55 three years ago, when the Buccaneers defeated the Chiefs.

By now, Romo knows what it takes to bring his A-game for a Super Bowl broadcast, but how did he fare in the postseason as a player?

Did Tony Romo win a Super Bowl?

Romo never won a Super Bowl during his NFL career.

The woes that come with being a Cowboys fan did not change during the Romo era. The quarterback made six starts for Dallas during the playoffs, going 2-4 in those games.

He never even reached a conference championship, never mind the Super Bowl. Romo went 2-1 in the wild-card round as the Cowboys’ starter and 0-3 in the divisional round with a pair of first-round byes.

In his career, Romo completed 61.6 percent of his passes in the postseason for 1,316 yards, eight touchdowns, and two interceptions. He finished his career with a postseason passer rating of 93.0.

Despite his strong numbers, the curse around the Cowboys could not be fixed by Romo. In the 2006 wild-card round, a botched hold on a field-goal attempt ultimately led to the elimination of the Cowboys. In ’14, it was the infamous Dez Bryant no-catch.

In addition to the six postseason games he played in, Romo was also on the sidelines for two other playoff contests for the Cowboys. He was inactive for the first Cowboys playoff game of his career, a wild-card loss to the Panthers in 2003. Romo also did not play in the final Cowboys playoff game in his career, a 34-31 loss to the Packers in 2016.

As a starting quarterback, Romo was 78-49 for the Cowboys in the regular season. He completed 65.3 percent of his passes for 34,183 yards, which ranks 37th in NFL history, and 248 touchdowns. He also had 117 interceptions in that time.

Romo accumulated an all-time passer rating of 95.62, which is fifth in NFL history, sandwiched between Peyton Manning and Philip Rivers.
