Canucks Must Watch Games For December 2023
After a good start to the season, the Vancouver Canucks will look to end 2023 off on a high note with a strong December. With 12 games on the schedule, including seven at home, it will again be a busy month for Vancouver as they look to solidify themselves as contenders before the new year. Here is a look at four marquee matchups Canuck fans should ensure they tune in for during December.
Dec. 5 vs New Jersey Devils
December 5th will be the first time at the NHL level that all three Hughes brothers will be on the ice together. While Quinn and Jack have already faced each other on multiple occasions, this edition will feature Luke Hughes for the first time. Expect plenty of fireworks at Rogers Arena as these competitive brothers battle for sibling superiority.
Dec. 12 vs Tampa Bay Lightning
Despite their slow start to the season, the Tampa Bay Lightning still have one of the most dangerous offences in the NHL. Led by First Star of November Nikita Kucherov, this could be a high-scoring affair that would feature five of the top ten highest-scoring players in the league as of the end of November. This will be a good test not just for Vancouver’s offence but also for whether their defensive structure can hold up against an offensive juggernaut.

Dec. 14 vs Florida Panthers
The Canucks matchup against the Florida Panthers will be memorable for a variety of reasons. While Oliver Ekman Larsson’s return will be a story, the night’s main focus will be Roberto Luongo being inducted into Vancouver’s Ring of Honour. The greatest goaltender in franchise history, there should be plenty of “Luo” chants throughout the evening.
Dec. 17 @ Chicago Blackhawks
For the first time in his NHL career, Connor Bedard will face off against the Canucks. Even though the Chicago Blackhawks as a team are struggling, fans should ensure they set time aside to tune into this game. One of the most electric players ever to come out of BC; he could be in store for a big game against the team he grew up rooting for.
