Meet the Mets
After a thrilling walk-off win to close out the series against the Cubs, the Mets traveled down to Florida to open up a three game series against the Tampa Bay Rays. The team’s offense has struggled mightily in recent times, but they broke out for eight runs last night—including, most notably, two home runs off the bat of Brett Baty. Unfortunately, the pitching failed the Mets this time around, as José Quintana—coming off his best start of the season—lasted just 2.2 innings and gave up a whopping eight runs. The bullpen, tasked with pitching a majority of this game, gave up two runs of their own, and the Amazins fell to the Rays 10-8.
