Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Player Deletes Enemy With Scary Elevator
- One Tears of the Kingdom player created a clever contraption that can delete smaller mobs by trapping them in an electrified elevator.
- Dubbed the Evilvator, the scary-looking device wasn’t designed for optimal combat efficiency but maximum entertainment value.
One player has recently devised a unique method for dealing with some of the smaller mobs in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom by utilizing a scary-looking elevator. Their deadly device adds to the list of Tears of the Kingdom tricks for deleting enemies with weaponized bees, autonomous drones, and a variety of other contraptions.
While a completionist playthrough of the latest Zelda game can easily take hundreds of hours, some players have merely been messing with its many mechanics for much longer than that. This group of avid tinkerers ostensibly includes Reddit user DDoodles_, who previously concocted a variety of unique in-game experiments, like seeing what happens if Link never leaves the hot air balloon with Impa in Tears of the Kingdom.

In yet another testament to their creativity, DDoodles_ recently put together a convoluted trap that’s essentially a giant, electrified elevator. Dubbed the Evilvator, the bottom part of the device contains a gate made of two Zonai Springs, which closes when the elevator is activated, preventing immediate escape until it gets going. The floor of the contraption consists of a Zonai Cart fused to two stacks of three Zonai Fans responsible for lifting the platform. That board eventually connects to another vertically positioned cart that extends into a cage, making escape impossible.
Powering up this scary-looking construction electrifies it with a combination of a Zonai Hydrant and what appears to be a Shock Emitter, although any electricity-infused item would theoretically do the trick here. Putting the contraption to the test, this Tears of the Kingdom player successfully deleted a Bokoblin patrol by pushing each of its members into the Evilvator with a Korok leaf fused to a sword, which produces a gust of wind that sends mobs flying.
The Evilvator Is More About Entertainment Than TOTK Combat Efficiency
And while DDoodles_ technically used their deadly elevator to complete Tears of the Kingdom’s Bring Peace To Hyrule Field quest, it goes without saying that their contraption wasn’t designed for optimal combat efficiency so much as maximum entertainment value. Specifically, practical uses of the Evilvator seemingly hinge on having Majora’s Mask or another type of headgear that helps Link avoid aggroing mobs in order to easily push them into the trap.
Be that as it may, this unusual device further underlines the sandbox nature of the new Zelda game, and how much freedom it bestows upon the players willing to experiment with its mechanics. The Ultrahand ability also allows for much more practical war machines, like an imposing Tears of the Kingdom pulse emitter that can even delete Lynels.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the sequel to the beloved open-world adventure, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. This installment once again sees Link and Zelda battling to protect Hyrule from falling to Ganondorf. This new adventure takes place in the same land of Hyrule as Breath of the Wild but sees something called the Upheaval, which allows link to travel to Sky Islands, as well as deep into the Depths beneath Hyrule. Players can use special abilities to fuse together weapons, and build items to help them progress through the release.
