Zakir Khan: ‘Seeing my parents proud is my biggest accomplishment’

After a series of international shows, Zakir Khan is now back on the screen with his show ‘Chacha Vidhayak Hai Humare 3’. While promoting the series, Khan made a pitstop at his hometown in Indore, where he was given a superstar welcome. Along with his fans gathered around his home, a video going viral on social media also showed his parents beaming with pride, as they hugged their son.Â

During an exclusive chat with IndiaToday.in, the comedian spoke about feeling overwhelmed seeing his parents happy and proud of him. He also added how they are also the ones who put him in place when needed.

“Yeh meri zindagi ki sabsi badi kamayi mein se ek hai (This is one of my biggest accomplishments). I always try to include my parents in my work circle and schedules. These are very small things but bring me so much joy. And if I had to put in 10 times the effort, I would happily do it,” he said.

Zakir Khan then added that he has been brought up with a lot of love and respect by his parents. “They have always believed I would be a star. I think, in all honesty, they feel I deserve more. They question if I am even putting in all my efforts into my work,” he shared.

Recalling a rather sweet moment, the actor-comedian shared that a few months back he was practising playing the sitar when his parents were home.Â

“They said ‘itna accha haath hai, dhang se karta toh duniya mein naam hota iska (He can play the instrument so well. If he had pursued it well, he would have been recognised worldwide)’. For them, all the popularity is virtual and on social media. Sometimes, I also feel that they realise I get so much love and respect away from home, so they need to balance it out,” he replied with a laugh.
