Sonakshi Sinha's red saree for wedding reception costs Rs 79,800, features 'chaand buta'
Actor Sonakshi Sinha got married to Zaheer Iqbal in a civil wedding on Sunday in Mumbai. The couple hosted an after-party for their friends and family members later in the day. For the same, the bride wore a red banarasi saree with a golden border. Sonakshi looked ethereal as she let that bold colour take the centre-stage with subtle emerald and Kundan jewellery. Sonakshi's bridal saree was from the designer label Raw Mango. The stunning piece of six-yard wonder was made from silk brocade fabric, featuring the 'chand buta' (crescent moon) motif with a heavily weaved golden zari border. The saree is priced at Rs 79,800 and is available to buy online.

The new bride paired her saree with a matching red blouse. She tied her hair in a middle-parted sleek bun with white flowers. A tiny red bindi, red glass bangles and a subtle lip colour completed her reception look. Sonakshi looked absolutely lovely. The actor ditched lehenga altogether for her wedding festivities.
Even for her civil wedding, she chose to wear her mother, Poonam Sinha's vintage ivory chikankari saree with a matching ivory blouse. Later, at her wedding reception, she changed into a more comfortable red anarkali suit. Sonakshi owned every bit of all her wedding looks and created a statement.

Sonakshi is not the first Bollywood actor to have chosen a red silk saree for their wedding. Earlier, actor Dia Mirza got married in a Hindu wedding ceremony with SahilSangha and opted for a Raw Mango banarasi saree. Hers was more intricately weaved in brocade fabric. Yami Gautam, who had a pandemic wedding with filmmaker Aditya Dhar, wore her mother's heritage silk banarasi weave in a deep shade of red.Vidya Balan, Sagarika Ghatge, Angira Dhar, Shilpa Shetty, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are a few other names who got married in beautiful sarees.
