Dengue cases have been on the rise in the Paloem area. The Canacona Community Health Centre reported 47 new cases of dengue, reported TOI. There were several cases of dengue detected earlier at Gaondongrim, among other areas of Canacona.
Canacona health officer Dr Jose Tavares, medical officer Dr Diwakar Velip, sanitary inspector Pranay Naik and a group of other staff were involved in an awareness drive. They went from door to door to instruct the residents about the preventive measures.
Saturlim, Talem, Karvem, Bars, Badsarem, Indrawada and Nanem wards of Gaondongrim village also reported dengue cases after the infection was detected in a migrant worker at Ziltawadi.
