OnePlus Nord 3 Rs 14,000 price cut on Amazon makes OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite dead on arrival
The OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite is dead, even before launch. And OnePlus can blame Amazon for it. The e-commerce platform is currently running a promo sale event and has put up the OnePlus Nord 3 for grabs for as low as —wait for it—Rs 19,998 (Rs 19,999 if you go for the green variant). The phone continues to sell for Rs 33,999 on OnePlus’s own website, the same price that it was launched at last year. With a single shot, Amazon has made both the recently launched Nord CE 4 and the soon-to-launch Nord CE 4 Lite redundant.

It could be that, it’s just a clearance sale, as we fast approach the launch of the OnePlus Nord 4. But lowering the price of a formidable phone like the Nord 3 by Rs 14,000 just before the launch of a phone that is very likely to be priced tentatively around the same ballpark figure, is a recipe for disaster, no matter how you look at it.
The specs that OnePlus has shared ahead of launch seem to suggest that the Nord CE 4 Lite with its AMOLED screen and 80W fast charging will come as a welcome upgrade though ongoing rumours also suggest that OnePlus may pull a hattrick by putting a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 inside it, same as the Nord CE 3 Lite and Nord CE 2 Lite before it. Clearly, you win some, and you lose some.
OnePlus Nord 3 listed for Rs 19,998 on Amazon.
But what’s for certain is that the Nord 3 is a much superior phone in every sense of the word. It has a glass back made out of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and IP54 splash resistant rating. It also retains OnePlus’s alert slider, which is becoming increasingly uncommon among budget OnePlus phones. Flip over to the front and you’ll find a 6.74-inch AMOLED display with 1080p resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The panel supports HDR10+ and is protected by Dragontrail glass.
Under the hood, the phone has the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 and a 5,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging. For photography, the Nord 3 has a triple camera setup which is a combination of 50MP wide (Sony IMX890/OIS), 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro. It support 4K video recording. On the front, you get a 16MP camera. Be sure to check out our full review here.

As is usually the case with these “unbelievable” deals and discounts, chances are it would be limited-time, and by the time the Nord CE 4 Lite goes on sale, who knows, the Nord 3 might have gone back to its original price. But as things stand at the time of writing, Amazon seems to have spoiled OnePlus’s party. If you’re in the market looking for a phone around Rs 20,000 and have been waiting for the Nord CE 4 Lite, get the Nord 3 while you still can. It’s a deal you can’t miss.
