He's alive! House of the Dragon Season 2 finally acknowledged the existence of Daeron Targaryen, Alicent Hightower's (Olivia Cooke) youngest son on the show. The tense second episode indicated that we would see the third Targaryen brother somewhere down the line. House of the Dragon showrunner and co-creator Ryan Condal explained where Daeron Targaryen has been all this time. The fantasy adventure series airs weekly on Mondays on Jio Cinema.

In George RR Martin's Fire & Blood, on which the HBO series is based, the author lists four children between King Viserys I Targaryen (Paddy Considine) and his second wife Queen Alicent Hightower. In the show so far, we have seen Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney), now King Aegon II, followed by Helaena Targaryen (Phia Saban), now Queen. Prince Daeron Targaryen is younger than Prince Aemond Targaryen (Ewan Mitchell).
Ryan Condal told The Hollywood Reporter that the show hadn't cast the character yet. He revealed, "At this point in the story, he’s in Oldtown where he was warded off as a young child. So we don’t have a point-of-view character in that world yet and there is no dramatic reason to go there."
However, since the show has been renewed for another season and could go on for more, we could see Daeron eventually. Condal added, "We know he’s not yet a dragon rider, but he’s had a dragon born to him. So he will come to the narrative and have a role to play, just as he does in the book — we’re just not there yet in the storytelling."
About Daeron Targaryen in Fire & Blood (Spoilers Ahead!)
In Martin's books, when the civil war aka Dance of the Dragons between the Targaryens begins, Daeron has been living in Oldtown as Lord Ormund Hightower's squire. Later, he takes part in the Battle of the Honeywine with his dragon Tessarion. Proud of his prowess on the battlefield, he is knighted Daeron the Daring by Ormund.
However, after Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy) captures King's Landing as queen, his brothers are gone, leaving him as the next in line for the throne. Unfortunately, Daeron also meets a tragic fate like his brothers in battle that has another new character introduced in Season 2, Addam of Hull. We'll have to see how House of the Dragon tackles the story in upcoming seasons.
