IND vs ENG Semifinal Guyana Weather Update: Rain Threatens WASHOUT
ind vs eng semifinal guyana weather update: rain threatens washout
Rain threat looms large in the India vs England T20 World Cup semifinal. The teams will lock horns at the Providence Stadium in Guyana in the second semifinal on June 27. As per the weather forecast, there are 88 percent chances of heavy rain on the match day. If the forecast comes true, the India vs England semifinal can be washed out due to rain. India, however, won't mind a washout as the Rohit Sharma-led side will qualify for the finals if there is no play in the semifinal. This is because India finished the group as table toppers while England ended up as runners-up.
Meanwhile, there is no reserve day for the second semifinal as well thus the chances of a washout are significantly higher in the second semifinal than the first semifinal. There is a reserve day in place for the first semifinal but the same has not been allotted to the second semifinal due to just one day gap between the second semifinal and the final. However, play can be extended by 250 minutes in the second semifinal due to the rain delay.
India played England in the T20 World Cup 2024 semifinal and suffered a crushing 10-wicket defeat. It will be an opportunity for the Men in Blue to seek revenge for the defeat. India have been fantastic in the T20 World Cup. They started the tournament with a win over Ireland and followed it up with a victory over Pakistan. India also beat USA before their final group game against the USA was washed out due to rain. India then beat Afghanistan and Bangladesh and Australia to top the Super 8 group.
