When did Dan Webale relocate to Canada?

Daniel Tupos Webale immigrated to North America in 2012 and currently resides in Hamilton, Ontario.

Webale revealed he works as a mechanic besides selling chapatis and samosas.

In an interview with Kenya Diaspora Media, Webale said he works daily and has little time for breaks, considering the high bills abroad.

"I have been a resident of Canada since 2012. I work as a mechanic helping Kenyans and other people repair their cars here in Hamilton. I started repairing cars in Form Three but I had a passion for cooking," he revealed.

What's the cost of chapati in Canada?

Webale disclosed that to supplement his income as a mechanic, he makes chapatis and samosas in the evening and gets up to 100 orders daily.

He sells each chapati at $2.50 (KSh 323).

"When I came to Canada, I did a course in engineering, but since my passion was cooking, I went back to the kitchen. I secured a job washing dishes and cooking at a local hotel. I worked in different hotels, and when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, the hospitality industry took a blow. So I reverted to working as a mechanic," he explained.

How another Kenyan man makes KSh 4k hourly

Earlier, TUKO.co.ke reported that Paul, a hardworking man who left Kenya for Canada just before the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, now earns KSh 4000 per hour as a cement mixer (mjengo man).

Before moving to Canada, where he earns a decent income, Paul worked as a turn boy and matatu driver at the Bata Shoe Company's distribution centre.

He went to Canada at the invitation of his sister.
