MLB home run props for Fri. 6/21: Great matchup for Brewers' Yelich
Milwaukee Brewers left fielder Christian Yelich.
Coming off back-to-back +330 cashes in home run props, we're looking to keep the momentum rolling and end the week with a bang. Here are the three HR bets we're targeting for Friday's MLB slate.
Joc Pederson (+300 FanDuel)
Diamondbacks at Phillies, 6:40 p.m. ET
This is a lower price than we normally like to target, but that just shows how much we love this prop. Philadelphia Phillies starter Taijuan Walker is giving up the fifth-highest barrel rate among 362 pitchers who have faced at least 100 batters this year. In 27 career plate appearances against Walker, Pederson is batting .423 and slugging .654 with a home run and three doubles. This is also perfect weather for dingers, as it will be scorching hot in Philly with the wind projected to blow straight out to center field. This is a no-brainer.
Jordan Westburg (+500 DraftKings)
Orioles at Astros, 8:10 p.m. ET
The Houston Astros will be rolling out Jake Bloss for his MLB debut on Friday, and he has to face arguably the most dangerous power-hitting lineup in the league in a hitter-friendly Minute Made Park. Let's roll with Jordan Westburg, who's batting .394 and slugging a whopping .818 against right-handed pitching over the last two weeks. Westburg ranks second on the Baltimore Orioles in slugging percentage against righties, and eight of his 11 homers this year have come against righties.
Christian Yelich (+830 FD)
Brewers at Padres, 9:40 p.m. ET
San Diego Padres starter Dylan Cease isn't having a great season, and his biggest problem has been the long ball. Cease is giving up the highest fly-ball rate and the second-highest barrel rate among qualified pitchers, and he's surrendered five homers over his last three starts. Yelich is on fire against right-handed pitching, as he's batting .393 and slugging .536 against righties over the last two weeks. The Milwaukee Brewers outfielder is only an average power hitter, but this is a great matchup in the friendliest stadium to home runs in Petco Park.
