Polish Foreign Minister mocks Putin and advises not to worry about defeat

Russian leader Vladimir Putin should not worry about losing the war against Ukraine, says Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski.

In particular, Sikorski reminded Putin that Moscow's history is less than 900 years old, as the city was founded only in 1147. He noted that Putin "overworries" about Russia's loss in the war with Ukraine and that it would "end millennial of Russian statehood."

The Polish foreign minister listed reasons that cast doubt on Putin's statements:

・Moscow was founded only in 1147 (i.e., it has less than 900 years of history);

・Russia has suffered defeats in the Crimean War, the war with Japan, World War I, the invasion of Poland in 1920, the war in Afghanistan, and the Cold War (i.e., it has lost wars many times);

・After empire comes a place for "national life".

Russia's war against Ukraine

Since the outbreak of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, Western officials have noted the "unprecedented unity" of the EU and NATO countries in supporting Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression. This support includes economic and defense assistance, as well as sanctions against Russia.

Putin recently said that he does not rule out the possibility of transferring precision weapons to North Korea in response to Western military assistance to Ukraine. In addition, Putin is considering a change in Russia's nuclear doctrine due to alleged discussions in the West on "lowering the threshold for the use of nuclear weapons and developing less powerful warheads."
