PFF ranks Steelers rookie Zach Frazier as NFL’s 29th best center
The Pittsburgh Steelers have had bottom-of-the-barrel play from the center position ever since Maurkice Pouncey retired after the 2020 season.
From Kendrick Green to Mason Cole, the Steelers have limped in the post-Pouncey era at the position, which led to them drafting West Virginia’s Zach Frazier in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
It’s position-ranking season, and PFF has completed their offensive rankings and listed Frazier as the 29th best center in the league ahead of his rookie season.
“Fraizer was one of the most productive centers in the country for West Virginia in 2023, earning a 77.1 grade, ranking 12th among centers, and allowing just six pressures in 12 games,” PFF analyst Thomas Valentine wrote. “His 83.8 pass-blocking grade was a top-10 mark in the country, too. Frazier will likely start the season at center for the Steelers in Year 1.”
While Frazier was given a low ranking, don’t be surprised if he climbs lists before the end of the 2024 campaign.
