Lagman: Robredo to run for Naga City mayor

MANILA, Philippines — Albay 1st District Rep. Edcel Lagman said that from his last conversation with former vice president Maria Leonor Robredo, she will run for mayor of Naga in Camarines Sur.
Speaking in Filipino to media on Thursday, Lagman said that based on his last conversation with Robredo, she would run for mayor of Naga City to continue the programs of her late husband.
He also said that Robredo would join the national campaign for the senatorial slate of the Liberal Party and its allies.
Robredo, widow of the late Interior secretary Jesse Robredo, is a former congressional representative of Camarines Sur's third district.
She ran for president in 2022 but lost.
