Sarah aka cowgirl6999: 25-year-old ‘completely broke’ despite being on OnlyFans

A 25-year-old Aussie woman has revealed she is “completely broke” despite starting up an OnlyFans account with the hope of cashing in.

Some who have jumped onto the OnlyFans wagon have found success, such as 18-year-old WA girl Maddie Miller, who is making $25,000 monthly on the platform.

But, not everybody is reaping the same benefits from the so-called “paywall of porn”.

Sarah jumped on OnlyFans because, like many, she believed it was an easy way to make money.

“I initially got into spicy work because I wanted to make lots of money and thought it was going to be an easy job,” she said.

With the intent to do it in the short term, Sarah had hoped it would give her enough money to leave the industry behind and set up a business of her own.

However, the reality was far different from what she had imagined.

“I’m completely broke. I lost my house, and yeah, I’m just kind of failing at life at the moment,” she said.

“I feel like I’ve lost everything to do this job. I’ve lost friends and family members, and I’ve made myself financially cooked.”

Sarah says she enjoys creating content for Instagram as it combines many of her passions, such as photography and creativity, but despite not being a success, she doesn’t blame the industry.

“This is my fault. I made the decision to do this. It is not the industry’s fault,” she said.

She says that many automatically assume she must be making the big bucks, but the opposite is true.

“The general societal opinion seems to be that porn is easy money, but anyone who has spent substantial time in this line of work understands the oversaturation in the market and the amount of work required to maintain a fan base,” she said.

And despite not making the money she hoped for, she enjoys the creative control that comes with the platform.

“Having full creative control of every aspect of my social media presence as well as my photography is not only an act of empowerment but an act of protest against the cultural conditioning of shame and guilt around sexual expression,” she said.

“Doing OnlyFans opened the door for me to become more confident in myself and my artistic ability. This job has inspired me to pursue both modelling and photography.”
