Jon Hamm, 53, reveals his desire to have children with wife Anna Osceola, 36, ahead of first wedding anniversary: 'I will be the old dad'

At 53 and just days away from celebrating his first wedding anniversary with wife Anna Osceola, Jon Hamm confessed he's now ready to grow his family with a baby of their own.

'I hope it turns into kids,' Hamm, 53, revealed to The Hollywood Reporterin a new interview on Wednesday, June 19, for which he dished on his marriage.

He proceeded to explain: 'It's not lost on me that I'm 53. I will be the old dad, but so it goes. It could be a good thing. We'll see.'

Hamm, who only moments before confessed he 'didn't look at marriage as a thing', made a point to share that he didn't have any role models when it came to marriage due to his parents' short union before getting divorced.

'Obviously, my parents were not married long, so I don't have a model to look at and go, "Oh, this is how one finds happiness,"' he said, before adding, 'I just knew at a certain point I wanted to be with this person. But when I proposed, I was terrified. I was like, "What am I doing?"'

Hamm was at a loss as to why he was terrified in those days and weeks leading up to his wedding day on June 24, 2023.

'I just remember feeling, "This is really scary." Then going, "Well, it probably means it’s worthwhile,"' he explained.

Despite those scary thoughts and feelings, the couple's wedding day went smoothly, and before long those feelings of terror were replaced with optimism and joy.

'My wedding day was perfect. Everybody I love was there. It was so emotional, and it felt right. I was like, "OK, I guess this is a thing."

It turns out they decided to pay homage to Mad Men, which is how they met, and tie-the-knot where they had shared a scene together.

'We did it [where they had shot the Mad Men finale], which was also amazing,' he said. 'Again, it was like a reset, a reboot, a reframe, a reimagining, nine years later, almost to the day.'

Hamm and Osceola first met while working on the series finale of Mad Men, when she portrayed a flower child receptionist at a spiritual retreat center in California.

Anderson Canyon in the Big Sur region stood in for the Esalen Institute setting in the episode.
