Claire Sweeney, the beloved actress known for playing Cassie Plummer on Coronation Street, has reached out to her fans in a plea for help regarding a painful health issue. Despite her successful stint on the iconic ITV soap, Claire is battling with a flare-up of peri-oral dermatitis, a condition characterized by redness and bumps around the mouth and nose area.

Taking to Instagram, Claire shared her struggle with the condition, posting: "Having the worst flair up on my skin with my peri oral dermatitis. Please does anyone know a magic cure. It's so sore!" (sic)

The British Association of Dermatologists notes that this condition is typically managed with steroid creams, but it seems Claire is seeking additional advice or remedies from her followers.

Her post has prompted an outpouring of support and suggestions from concerned fans, with messages like Freire's: "Sorry to read about your flare-up. It looks painful. Hope you can get something to help, wishing you all the best."

Another follower, @twomeywalsh_serendipityathome, commented: "So sorry Claire. It looks sore. Hopefully you get the right treatment and are feeling good soon." (sic)

Some fans agreed that the product was reliable, with one branding it "amazing".

While fellow star Kate Thornton revealed she was facing a similar battle, sharing: "I have exactly the same [shocked emoji]." (sic)

And actor Jonathan D Ellis wrote: " Oh darling! NO cortisone cream and antibiotics for you... doxycycline is best.... It's a nightmare especially when you're working and have to keep the slap on!" (sic)

Coronation Street continues tomorrow at 8pm on ITV and ITVX.
