New York Giants sign standout UFL running back in free agency

The New York Giants are expected to sign former UFL running back Jacob Saylors in free agency, adding more competition to the backfield.

According to Art Stapleton of USA TODAY, Saylors will be joining the backfield competition following the completion of the UFL season this weekend.

Saylors had a workout with the Giants earlier in the month, and the front office clearly saw something.

After going undrafted in 2023 out of East Tennessee State, Saylors initially signed with the Cincinnati Bengals. He didn't make the active roster during that preseason and tried his luck in the UFL.

With the St. Louis Battlehawks, Saylors was named to the All-UFL team after taking 94 carries for 461 yards and five rushing touchdowns.

Saylors will join a backfield led by Devin Singletary and will compete for a roster spot with rookie Tryone Tracy Jr. along with Eric Gray, Jashaun Corbin and Dante Miller.
