LeSean McCoy Sends a Stern Warning to WNBA Over Caitlin Clark Treatment
LeSean McCoy is among those who feel the WNBA needs to do a better job of protecting Caitlin Clark in her debut season.
During Monday's episode of Speak, the former All-Pro NFL running back called Clark the "Messiah" and suggested the WNBA needs to make more calls in the No. 1 overall pick's favor.
"You have the Messiah there. No one was watching women's basketball [before Clark]," he said.
McCoy sent a clear warning to the WNBA — suggesting that the physical play and calls going against Clark could ultimately result in her losing her "passion for the game."

"We have Michael Jordan, Tom Brady wearing No. 22 for the Indiana Fever — Caitlin Clark. You've got to monetize that and make sure she's protected enough... It should be certain calls she should get," he continued.
"There are certain calls that need to be called right away to send a message to the league," McCoy continued. "Because if you don't and this girl gets mad enough where she says 'You know what, I don't have the passion for the game anymore. I'm gonna get out of here.'"
"If she does that we all lose... If she's not playing, I'm not watching."
