Heat dome deflecting strong storm track to Northern Ontario
As Ontario and Quebec are engulfed by a heat wave, the risk for severe storms gets heightened across northern Ontario. Now you notice that area of orange across northern Ontario and through central Quebec for severe possible. It's actually a storm track that is getting deflected by this heat Dome, bringing up the heat wave deflecting storms across the Great Lakes region and through northern Ontario. So here's our risk for Tuesday, encompassing Atacoca and dried in the Thunder Bay, Nipigon, Geraldton and Armstrong for strong wind gusts, large hail, heavy heavy downpours and a tornado or two. Now this comes in two rounds. The first one will be less severe, but it'll move in in the early morning hours of Tuesday, so keep an eye out on your morning commute to work. The second round, more severe, will come in at the drive home from work. The critical time will be from 6:00 to 9:00 PM, and this is bringing a lot of moisture surging in. If you're under the thunderstorms, expect even heavier amounts of rainfall and possibly some flooding along the roadways. But it's also bringing about all the ingredients for supercell production and even tornadoes. So we've got we've got laps, we've got shear, we've got energy and a whole lot of lightning associated with both rounds of these storms. Hail is also going to be a big issue. So if you're on the roadways, keep your eyes peeled and stay up to date on your local forecast.
