The remake recently made the rounds in news cycles again, as developer Konami debuted a gameplay trailer for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater at the 2024 Xbox Games Showcase. The game's protagonist, Naked Snake, will once again be embarking on the mission of stopping the Soviets from activating a superweapon during the Cold War. Okamura elaborated further on the Legacy Style option, revealing that it also changes the remake's control scheme to be more in line with the 2004 title, while also applying a visual filter that will "more faithfully recreate" the graphical presentation of Metal Gear Solid 3. The producer states that the visual filter in particular will give the remake a more "aged look," possibly referring to the green-yellowish tint that numerous games of the PS2 era are remembered for. Metal Gear Solid 3 sported the same color palette, which means the yellow filter will live on with the upcoming remake.

Konami has yet to provide a release date for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, but has unveiled the collector's edition and commenced preorders for the remake. A recent GameStop tweet quoted a release date of November 17, 2024, which happens to be the exact launch date of the original game. However, it was later rescinded, lending credence to the speculation of a 2025 release.
