Matthew Stafford's wife Kelly issues groveling apology to back-up QB Joe Cox and his family - after she admitted she dated 'bad boy' rival to make her husband jealous in college
Kelly Stafford, the wife of NFL star Matthew Stafford, has apologized to the quarterback's former teammate after he was caught up in a 'storm' over her dating life at college.
Kelly recently revealed that she dated her husband's college back-up - just to make him jealous.
The Los Angeles Rams star played college football for the Georgia Bulldogs between 2006 and 2008. His future wife - then known as Kelly Hall - was a cheerleader for the Athens-based team about the same time.
Joe Cox was among the other quarterbacks on the team at that time but Stafford has apologized to his family and insisted he had 'zero involvement' in the saga.
'To this beautiful fam... I am sorry for the media storm that happened last week that made its way into your lives,' she wrote.

You had ZERO involvement in what I spoke about and in fact it was y'alls relationship in college that I looked up to and wanted for me and Matthew.
'You were the couple that everyone thinks Matthew and I was.. y'all were the UGA QB and cheerleader that met and never let go. I love y'all.'
