'Good to See' Mitch Trubisky Back, Says Bills GM Beane
Having a reliable backup quarterback eases a lot of unrest for NFL teams and coaches, and for the Buffalo Bills, having Mitch Trubisky as Josh Allen's understudy is a good thing for the franchise.
Having already had a stint with Buffalo back in 2021 before joining the Pittsburgh Steelers, Trubisky is getting himself re-acclimated to the facility and his teammates.
With OTAs and now minicamp having come and gone, Bills general manager Brandon Beane has liked what he's seen from the QB2 so far.

“I think it's good to see Mitch Trubisky getting a chance to run with the 1s a little bit, lead those guys," Beane said. "I thought he had some really good drives. Him being here a couple of years back, bringing him back on and just seeing him reacclimate.”
With Trubisky already semi-familiar with the Bills organization, it will help him settle back into the groove he once had.
Seeing as the team is now on break before training camp begins, Trubisky, like Allen, will likely get together with their receivers to build on the chemistry needed for the new season. With a host of new receivers and only Khalil Shakir returning from last season, it will take time to get on the same wavelength.
Trubisky will be ready to step in if called upon—although Bills Mafia hopes that he won't be needed unless it's in a blowout where Josh Allen can watch comfortably from the sidelines.
It will be an interesting season for the Bills after so much roster turnover this offseason, but things have gotten off to a good start, and while there are many question marks around Allen's offensive weaponry, the backup situation is perhaps of least concern.
Which is a good spot to be in.
