Is EastEnders on tonight? Full BBC soap schedule for this week and when iPlayer episodes drop
EastEnders will air differently this week on the BBC, as the Euros get underway.
For major football tournaments, both BBC and ITV share coverage of the football games, and with the BBC taking some of the biggest matches this week, it means that BBC soap EastEnders will face some schedule changes this week.
Frustrated fans took to social media to make their feelings clear. One wrote: "At least Beeb schedulers are appearing to understand the importance of keeping the time consistent," whilst a second added: "Why can't @ITV do this with Emmerdale and Coronation Street by putting them on ITV 2." A third penned: "Football messing with Eastenders again."
EastEnders usually airs Monday through to Thursday at 7.30pm to 8pm and the episodes are uploaded on the iPlayer at 6am on the morning of transmission. This week, there will be some channel hopping to accommodate for the football.
What is Maya hiding?
On Monday night, EastEnders will air as usual on BBC One from 7.30pm to 8pm, where fans will tune in to see a Father's Day trip to a nearby fishing lake. Stevie, Billy and Howie will head out with their sons for the trip, but things go awry when Stevie calls his son Billy by the wrong name. Phil, meanwhile, is feeling lonely not being able to spend time with his kids, so asks Sharon if he can be with Albie.
On Tuesday night, Gary Lineker will lead the BBC's coverage of Portugal vs Czechia on BBC One and so EastEnders will be moved to BBC Two. However, it will still air in its usual 7.30pm slot, where Stevie discovers Will is being blackmailed and Phil wants answers.
For Wednesday's episode, the BBC will broadcast Scotland vs Switzerland's match and thus EastEnders will be moved to BBC Two. Yolande struggles after deciding she needs to head to the baptism, whilst Callum leaves Sharon spooked.
Phil makes demands this week
On Thursday evening, BBC Two will air the latest episode of EastEnders. Whilst there is no football on in that time slot, the BBC is airing the Denmark vs England match from 4pm to 7.30pm, meaning the news needs to take the 7.30pm slot on BBC One. As a result, EastEnders will air on BBC Two on Thursday, where Harvey worries he's lost Maya and Lola's fundraiser money is stolen.
