Mum left in stitches after spotting stranger in garden at 4am on Ring doorbell
A mum has shared the moment her Ring doorbell captured a stranger outside her home at 4am, leaving her in stitches.
Kelly Evans was asleep at her family home in Bridgend, South Wales, on Sunday when she was awoken by a phone notification from her video doorbell. Like many parents in the same situation, the groggy mum immediately feared one of her two sons had wandered outside.
After alerting her husband and fearing the worst, the two rushed to the door and peeked out of the window, quickly confirming a stranger had tripped the alarm. Mrs Evans' husband shouted out to the intruder, who ran into the night.
The unusual experience took an even stranger turn when the mum reviewed the Ring footage, finding the "quite stumbly" disoriented man careening around their front garden. She said she has watched the video "probably 100 times" over the weekend, finding each rewatch "just as funny as the first time".
Man tripping over a low wall
Mrs Evans told WalesOinline: "We'd been out to an event - we never go out - got back home and went to sleep at about midnight. At around 4am, I was alerted to the Ring alert on my phone, and it turned out to be that guy. It was only when we got back in and locked all the doors again and watched the video back that I saw the extent to actually how funny it was. I thought 'What are the chances of catching that?'
"I was laughing, and I've probably watched it 100 times today, and it is probably just as funny as when I watched it for the first time. You feel sorry for the man at the same time, as you think, 'Oh, that must have hurt'. You could see he had his phone out, and he seemed quite stumbly."
The mum added that she wished she could have been around when the unknown man woke up, as he likely "will not remember himself". He said: "I was thinking, I'd love to be a fly on the wall when he wakes up and wonders: 'What the hell did I do last night?' being covered in bruises, as clearly he will not remember himself. Without a Ring doorbell, we would never have known that someone had been out and stumbling around in our garden."
