GWM Haval Jolion Pro: New small hybrid SUV teased
GWM will reveal its “all-new” Haval Jolion Hybrid today, and has released a couple of images of the hybrid SUV in the meantime.
Referred to alternately as “all-new” and a “facelift”, as well as both a Haval Jolion Hybrid and – per its badging – as a Jolion Pro HEV, the vehicle will replace existing Haval Jolion Hybrid models.
It’s essentially an export version of the Chitu/Red Rabbit crossover, which entered production in China in 2021 – the same year as the Haval Jolion already on sale in Australia.

GWM is holding a livestream this evening – Monday, June 17 from 4pm to 7pm – allowing people to hear from executives and engineers and ask questions.
Per government approval documents, GWM is set to keep a pair of Haval Jolions with the turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder and give them a mild facelift.
Hybrid models will be replaced by the new Jolion Pro.
While the Chitu/Red Rabbit has a different interior in China, right-hand drive models stick with the same interior as the existing Haval Jolion.

This includes the same 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster and 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
It measures 4470mm long, 1625mm tall and 1898mm wide – 2mm longer, 44mm taller and 24mm wider than the current Jolion, on an identical 2700mm wheelbase.
The new Jolion Pro Hybrid went on sale in New Zealand earlier this year.
As with the existing Jolion Hybrid, it features a 115kW/250Nm electric motor and a 70kW/125Nm 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine mated with GWM’s Dedicated Hybrid Transmission, for total system outputs of 140kW and 375Nm.

Claimed combined cycle fuel consumption is 5.1L/100km, essentially unchanged from the existing Jolion Hybrid.
It rides on multi-link independent rear suspension, which in the current Jolion only features in the sporty S model. Regular Jolions have a torsion beam rear.
Luggage space is lower than the existing Jolion, down to 255L or 916L with the second row folded. The current Jolion has between 390L and 430L, expanding to 1069-1133L with the second row folded.

At least in New Zealand-spec models, there are some new features not currently seen on Australian-market Jolions.
These include launch control, ventilated front seats, a four-way manually adjustable steering wheel (up from two-way) and a four-way power front passenger seat.
Local pricing and specifications have yet to be confirmed for the model, which is set to arrive in showrooms soon.
