Mother and son die in house fire in Brisbane’s south
An elderly woman and her son have died in a house fire near Brisbane.
Emergency services were called to a home in the suburb of Woodridge about 6pm on Sunday.
Queensland Police Acting Inspector Mark Procter said the pair found deceased inside were a woman in her 80s and the woman’s son, who was believed to be disabled, aged in his 60s.

“It’s terrible circumstances we believe they maybe have some form of disability,” the Acting Inspector told media at the scene.
“We also have our detectives working on the cause of the fire … we’re not treating it suspicious.”
On Monday morning police and Queensland Fire and Emergency Services were unable to confirm the exact ages of the man and woman.
The mother and son lived in the house on Cypress Street, about 25km south of Brisbane.
Firefighters arrived about 6.15pm to find the home engulfed with fire.
The blaze was under control about 15 minutes later.
Anyone with information about the fire is urged to contact police.
