The Late Morning Rundown: June 13, 2024
Markets are mixed across the major indexes in late morning trade after the latest economic data showed signs of inflation easing. Wholesale prices unexpectedly fell in May .2% when economists were looking for a .1% increase. Just four of 11 sectors in the US and S&P are higher so far this morning, with information technology leading the gainers. Industrials and healthcare are leading to the downside. As for the stocks making the biggest gains and losses? Broadcom is leading the gainers after the chip maker beat expectations for its quarterly earnings and announced A10 for one stock split. Leading the decliners, Paramount Global after controlling shareholder Shari Redstone called off a merger deal with Skydance earlier this week. Wells Fargo downgraded the stock yesterday. On that news for CNBC Business News, I'm Bertha Koontz.
