ITV announces yet another schedule shake-up as flagship shows including Coronation Street and Emmerdale are pulled off-screen for the Euros 2024
ITV has announced another schedule shake-up amid the onset of the Euros 2024.
The broadcaster has had to make way for the onslaught of matches set to hit screens for the tournament, meaning that flagship soap operas Coronation Street and Emmerdale have been pulled.
The latest episode of Manchester-based soap Corrie was axed on Friday, and it will remain off-air on Monday while the Austria v France takes its space.
Meanwhile, Emmerdale will also remain off-screen as the match also takes up its usual slot as coverage will begin from 16:15 in the afternoon.
Soap fans will instead be able to catch a double bill of Emmerdale from 8pm, and Coronation Street will follow shortly afterwards.

But some fans took to social media to suggest that their favourite shows simply be aired on ITV2 instead.
One wrote: 'Put Corrie and Emmerdale on ITV2 then,no biggie is it?
A second wrote: 'It's about time this nonsense stopped, there is no need to cancel Corrie for football, there are enough channels for both.'
A third said: 'Why don't you put the episodes on @ITVX early'
Daytime favourites like Tipping Point and The Chase have also been taken off air for Tuesday in order to accommodate the racing.
Ben Shephard's quiz show normally airs at 4pm on weekdays, whilst Bradley Walsh's teatime favourite normally goes out directly afterwards.
Emmerdale will also remain off-screen as the match also takes up its usual slot as coverage will begin from 16:15 in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, England will make their debut in the tournament on Sunday night.
Gareth Southgate's men kick off their tournament in Gelsenkirchen at 8pm hoping to go one better three years ago when they lost on penalties in the final against Italy at Wembley.
Ahead of their opening Group C game fans were in confident mood as they descended on the western Germany to down steins of lager in the hopes England can live up to their tag as favourites to pick up the trophy for the first time.
