The Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky will face off at 12:00 PM ET on Sunday in a highly anticipated WNBA showdown. The two teams played earlier this season, with Indiana securing a 71-70 victory over Chicago.
The big story entering that game was that first WNBA battle between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese, but the biggest story after the game was Chennedy Carter's hard foul on Clark. This foul sparked days of discussion, and fans will certainly have their eye on the Clark vs. Carter matchup in this one.
This game for Indiana was the second of the season without center Temi Fagbenle, who suffered a left foot injury in a loss to the Los Angeles Sparks. Ahead of this rematch with Chicago, Fever head coach Christie Sides was asked about Fagbenle, and said the team will know more in the coming days.
This means Fagbenle will not be available for Sunday afternoon's game vs. Chicago, as Sides said in full, "She is actually - we will know something in the next couple days. She's gone."
Fagbenle is officially listed as out on ESPN's injury report, but the outlet predicts a return for Indiana's June 19th contest vs. the Washington Mystics. Finding her groove in Indiana's rotation prior to going down with this injury, Fagbenle was moved into the starting lineup after a 17-point showing in a win over the Sparks.
Unfortunately just two games after that big win, Fagbenle suffered the foot injury that has sidelined her since. Indiana will have to go up against Chicago's tough front court without Fagbenle, but should hopefully not be too far away from getting her back.
