Dancing Prince Louis steals the show at Trooping the Colour
There's stunning pictures overnight of the Princess of Wales back on duty at Trooping the Colour. And while it was the King's official birthday celebrations, all eyes were on Kate as a sodden crowd cheered on her first public engagement in almost six months. Yeah, so good to see it wasn't just Kate upstaging the King either. Little Prince Louis, he's done it again, stealing the limelight, dancing his own little jig to the Band of the Irish Guards And what was an impressive display of pomp and pageantry that only the Brits can pull off. Brett McLeod was among the rain soaked crowds. She's back after months of rumours and speculation about her health, and when she'd returned to the public eye, the Princess of Wales appeared happy and relaxed. She and her children George, Louis and Charlotte rode out of Buckingham Palace in front of them on horseback. Princess William and Edward alongside Princess Royal Anne at the head of the procession to mark the King's official birthday, Charles and Camilla. Traditionally, this event is about the monarch. But today all eyes are on Princess Kate as she makes her return to public life in the most public way possible. This is the biggest event on the Royals calendar. More than 1000 troops, hundreds of horses, marching bands and thousands of members of the public gathered for Trooping the Colour. Kate had indicated she wanted to be here not just as a royal but as honorary Colonel in the Irish Guards and her public health update yesterday she said chemotherapy for preventative cancer left her some good days and some bad days. But today she glowed in what looked like a good day, except for the London summer weather which dreams those on the parade route. But the skies cleared as if on cue as crowds massed outside the palace for the balcony appearance and the traditional Air Force fly past, watched by King and his daughter-in-law Princess, with a unique bond, both on their own cancer journey but also both enjoying their moment in the sun.
