Saturday Kitchen fans 'switch off' after slamming repeat episode's 'insufferable' guest
Saturday Kitchen
Fans of BBC's Saturday Kitchen switched off just minutes into a repeated show this Saturday (June 22). Host Matt Tebbutt was joined by chefs Georgina Hayden, Genevieve Taylor and Jason Atherton, with a special guest - which left fans complaining.
Scottish singer and actress Lulu made an appearance on the BBC show, much to the dismay of viewers at home. The 75-year-old star has had a career spanning six decades, but it seems not everyone is happy with her still putting herself in the limelight.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter) one user wrote: "#saturdaykitchen Lulu's on, so I've switched off." Another replied: "Just watching the Greek dish then I'm off too."
Someone else penned: "Annnnd that's turned off. Ain't no way I'm enduring the insufferable one hit wonder Lulu for a morning, it wasn't event her song! Talk about a grifter, she's convinced she's bigger than god the poor cow. #SaturdayKitchen." (sic)
Another ranted: "Of all the guests in all the world ... why just why? #SaturdayKitchen."

But not everyone was bashing her show appearance, as others were delighted to see her joining the TV chef. One said: "Lulu seems such a good laugh, brilliant lady #SaturdayKitchen."
Another added: "Its @lulushouts today!!!!! Weeeeeeeeeeell, I'm really looking forward to this. #saturdaykitchen."
Lulu made an admission about her personality as she said that she found it tricky to be in the spotlight. She said: "I'm actually quite a private person.
"I can be chatty as hell here, I'm chatty chatty and personable but really and truly I don't let everybody in, if you know what I mean. I keep certain things to myself. I'm, hopefully, discreet on some level."

Elsewhere, celebrity chef Matt appeared to make a cheeky dig at his former colleague and 'rival' TV chef James Martin. Tebbutt replaced Martin as host of BBC show Saturday Kitchen in 2016, having previously served as a stand-in presenter.
Appearing on the Spooning with Mark Wogan podcast, Tebbutt seemingly poked fun at his TV predecessor. Wogan said: "There's a mild rivalry with weekend chefs? What is that about?"
Tebbutt replied: "Viewing figures! Can we stay on air? Can we pay our mortgage?" Before Wogan expanded: "There's your good self, there's James, who used to be where you are."
To which Tebbutt mischievously interjected: "[James is] doing exactly the same thing on ITV. After wanting to leave..."
