Chiefs Labeled 'Early Super Bowl Favorites' In Final NFL Offseason Power Rankings
The Kansas City Chiefs are going for a third straight Super Bowl - something that has not been accomplished in the 58 years since the game was first played.
And they appear to have all the tools in place to be the first team to do it.

The strength of last year's team was the defense and most of the starters on that side of the ball are coming back, with the exception of CB L'Jarius Sneed. But Chiefs DC Steve Spagnuolo has more than enough talent between DT Chris Jones, CB Trent McDuffie, LB Nick Bolton, DE George Karlaftis and others to keep Kansas City in great shape on that side of the ball.
The offense should be better, too. Last year it sometimes felt like putting the ball in the end zone for the Chiefs was like pulling teeth. Inconsistent skill position players limited the offense all year until QB Patrick Mahomes and TE Travis Kelce flipped a switch for the playoffs. This year, WRs Marquise Brown and first-rounder Xavier Worthy should give Mahomes a far better supporting cast to work with and Kansas City's offense should get back to being the explosive, dangerous unit the league has been accustomed to seeing. They deserve top billing until someone dethrones them.
The key here is the offense gelling, and gelling early. The new additions in the wideout room will need to find instant chemistry with the offense and with Mahomes for this thing to work, or we may very well see much of the same inconsistencies that we saw for a lot of the regular season last year.
If that happens, it could be that we see the defense carry the team just as it did last season before the postseason began.
