Assistant Defence Minister Matt Thistlethwaite says Australia is on "the right path” in regards to reducing inflation and says the government “aren’t vulnerable” to Peter Dutton prioritising cost-of-living over climate change.

Leader of the Opposition Peter Dutton rejected Australia’s 2030 climate targets, instead targeting the cost-of- living crisis that continues to bite for many Australians.
“Peter Dutton is persisting with a policy of looking at nuclear energy - which we know is the most expensive form of energy that Australia could have,” Mr Thistlethwaite told Sky News Australia.
“Since we’ve come to office it’s all been about providing cost-of-living relief, and all of those measures in the budget are starting to work.”
