Ventricular tachycardia is arrhythmia of 3 or more consecutive complexes in duration originating in ventricles at a rate of more than or equal to 100 beats per minute. It is non-sustained if it lasts less than 30seconds. But if it lasts for more than 30seconds it is called sustained ventricular tachycardia. If left untreated sometimes, ventricular tachycardia can cause heart failure, or heart to stop (sudden cardiac arrest), which is a life-threatening medical emergency.
