Hungary, tipped as one of the dark horses for Euro 2024, this afternoon begin their campaign against Switzerland in Group A.
Marco Rossi’s side went unbeaten throughout qualifying and look a much-improved side to the one who exited in the group stage of Euro 2020 in dramatic fashion. Their 4-0 win over England in 2022 proved what a dangerous team they can be.
The Swiss, meanwhile, endured a difficult qualification process to finish second behind Romania. That led to pressure on manager Murat Yakin, but he keeps his job for the tournament.
Having reached the knockout stages in the last five international tournaments, anything less would be a deep disappointment.

For the Swiss, this is a golden generation.
Granit Xhaka was influential in securing a first Bundesliga title in Bayer Leverkusen’s history, while Manuel Akanji and Yann Sommer enjoyed success with Manchester City and Inter Milan respectively.
Breel Embolo is ruled out so Burnley youngster Zeki Amdouni should lead the line.
