AEW TBS Champ Mercedes Mone Shines As Boston Celtics Win NBA Playoffs Finals
Reigning AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone caused quite a stir at the NBA playoffs finals last night between her beloved Boston Celtics and the Dallas Mavericks.
On social media, Mone shared a selfie from the game, revealing that she was at courtside for the all-important game. Mone, who donned the black and green of the Celtics, brought the AEW TBS Championship to the game.
The CEO shined at the Celtics-Mavericks game.
The game proved to be an especially good one for Mone, as the Celtics defeated the Mavericks 106-88. With the win, the Celtics have captured their record-breaking 18th championship, surpassing the 17 wins of the LA Lakers. The win also ends a 16-year championship drought for the Celtics who last won the big game in 2008. On Twitter/X, Mone was understandably delighted by the result.
Mercedes Mone in AEW
Mone arrived in AEW during the Big Business episode of Dynamite, following weeks of speculation that she'd be joining. Mone had hardly been subtle in the run-up to the show, making clear to fans that she was in Boston, MA, her hometown and the host of Big Business, mere hours before the show.
The former Sasha Banks captured the AEW TBS Championship at Double or Nothing, dethroning Willow Nightingale in the process. The match at AEW Dynasty came roughly a year from the pair's previous encounter at NJPW Resurgence where Mone suffered an injury that cost her a year of action. Mone has since successfully defended her title against Skye Blue, who was revealed as the woman behind a backstage attack on the CEO.
