If you're into gaming or keep up with gaming news, you've surely heard the buzz about GTA VI, one of the most eagerly awaited titles. Rockstar Games dropped their first trailer of the game in December last year, revealing a 2025 release. Recently, the launch timeline of the game was narrowed down even further, confirming a "Fall 2025" launch. Since fall typically starts around September, we're looking at over a year of anticipation ahead.

The rumour mill is already in overdrive, with speculation and leaks popping up everywhere. So, let's break down what we know so far and what we can expect from this blockbuster release. Whether it's new features, settings, or gameplay mechanics, there's plenty to get excited about as we inch closer to the launch date.

PC version might release sooner than expected

Ever since news got out that GTA VI will be coming to PlayStation and Xbox first, PC players have been somewhat disappointed. It was earlier being reported that the game's launch on PC will be delayed. However, fresh leaks indicate that this might not be the case and the game might come to PC the same time as console. A reliable source that goes by the name of @GTAVI_Countdown on X has said that the game's PC release could coincide with the console version release.Â

To recall, GTA VI was announced in December 2023, with a planned release for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in fall 2025. However, Rockstar has been silent about a PC release date.Â

At a TD Cowan conference, Strauss Zelnick was questioned about whether the lack of a PC release at launch was final or if there might be an announcement later. Zelnick had responded, "It doesn't seem to me that either would be set in stone, but Rockstar has an approach to platform which we have seen before, and they will make some more announcements in due time."

From this, it sounds like there's still a glimmer of hope for PC gamers eagerly awaiting more news on GTA 6's arrival on their platform. So, while nothing is confirmed, there's a chance we'll hear something in the future.

Fresh leaks about the console version

 Fresh details about the console version have been leaked online by user mvbr. The user says that gamers can expect features like HDR, DLSS, ray tracing, global illumination, FSR, SSR, denoiser and shadow rasterization.Â

In another tweet, mvbr said that even though ray tracing is likely to be offered in the game, it might pose some optimization challenges.Â

Influenced by pop culture? 

Further, the game is expected to be heavily influenced by pop culture. Shows such as Narcos, Shotas, Bad Boy For Life, The Place Beyond of The Pines etc have reportedly influenced the world of GTA VI.Â

Rumoured price

Although the exact pricing of the game hasn't been revealed yet, there's speculation that GTA VI could be more expensive than previous titles, possibly exceeding USD 59.99 (Rs 4,993). With the release date drawing nearer, fans worldwide are eagerly awaiting the next instalment in the beloved GTA series.

GTA VI second trailer

Reports of GTA VI second trailer had surfaced in March. It was earlier being said that the trailer 2 could be out by May this and since that timeline has passed, details about the trailer launch date are scarce.

Rumours of GTA VI trailer 2 surfaced in March this year after a Reddit user brought to the community's notice that Rockstar Games had added GTA 6 Trailer 1 in their videos section. The user also noted that there were arrows on the website, signalling that more videos would be added to this folder.

Larger map and mini games

The GTA VI map is rumoured to be the biggest one in Rockstar Games' history, even larger than Red Dead Redemption 2's map. A Reddit user compiled a list of potential locations in the game, suggesting it will cover parts of Florida and Georgia. But again, Rockstar Games hasn't confirmed these details. Other Reddit users have claimed that GTA VI will have the most mini-games in the series, including a new fishing mini-game.

Characters and setting

From the first trailer of the game, it was clear that GTA VI will feature a female protagonist named Lucia, marking the first time that a central female character is included in the franchise. There will also be a male character, rumoured to be named Jason. The addition of characters like Stefani, a prison counsellor, and a mysterious, joker-like figure also promises to enhance players' experience.

Talking about the setting, the game will take us back to Vice City, with locations in the trailer looking similar to those in the 2002 release. We saw sunsets, beaches, and yachts, bringing back memories of playing as Tommy Vercetti in GTA Vice City.
