Orlando Pirates striker accepts his fate at the club

Orlando Pirates striker Kermit Erasmus has conceded that his Buccaneers adventure will end after this campaign.

Kermit’s time at Orlando Pirates is up

According to Soccer-Laduma Kermit Erasmus has accepted that his time at Pirates is up.

“According to Siya sources in the know, Kermit Erasmus is understood to be putting out feelers in search of his next destination. It’s clear now that Erasmus is on the lookout for a new home, having taken to social media to announce he has joined a new agency with the hope that they can help him find a club ahead of the 2024/25 season. Pirates have, however, not yet announced his departure and Soccer Laduma understands this is now likely the case and Erasmus could very well be on his way out soon after the Nedbank Cup final on June 1,” wrote the publication.

In two stints with the Sea Robbers, Erasmus has made 117 appearances, scoring 26 goals and supplying 19 assists. He was a key figure in their run to MTN8 glory last term, scoring against Sundowns in the semi-finals.

BUCS LET STELLIES OFF THE HOOK IN MTN8 RACE

Stellenbosch fell to a surprising 2-0 defeat to Swallows on Saturday, opening the door for Orlando Pirates to take control of the race for a top-two finish. However, the Sea Robbers conspired to lose 1-0 at home to relegation strugglers Richards Bay. This is despite Jose Riviero’s men coming into the clash on a seven-game winning streak across all competitions. Much of the post-match talk revolved around a dangerous tackle by Tshegofatso Mabasa, but in the cold light of day, the Buccaneers are no longer in control of their CAF Champions League destiny. Stellenbosch knows that two wins from their two games will tie up second place. However, their fixtures don’t look favourable, against the newly-crowned champions and a crunch clash against a Bay team fighting for their lives.
