Potential escalation unlikely if Ukraine utilizes Western weapons against Russian aircraft over Russian territory - Bundestag

If Ukraine uses Western weapons to destroy Russian planes over the territory of the Russian Federation, escalation should not be expected. Chair of the Bundestag Defense Committee Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann states this in a comment to DW.
Strack-Zimmermann was asked whether the West should be afraid in light of Moscow's threats after Ukraine was allowed to use Western weapons for strikes against the Russian Federation. In particular, what would happen if Ukraine destroyed a Russian aircraft over the Russian territory.
The head of the defense committee answered that this only means that there would be one less plane in Russia that was flying towards Ukraine to strike and kill Ukrainians.
What preceded
On May 31, the German media outlet Bild wrote that the German government allowed Ukraine to strike Russia with provided weapons.
As journalists clarified, the Ukrainian Armed Forces can use German weapons to strike no further than 40 km from the border.
Not only Germany, but also several other countries allowed Ukraine to use the transferred weapons to strike Russia.
