Fans of K-pop band Stray Kids say they've been left in shock at their idols' treatment at the hands of New York paparazzi on the red carpet during the Met Gala Ball on Monday.

A video clip that's been widely shared on social media appears to show photographers making negative comments within earshot of the pop stars as they posed at the fashion extravaganza.

Speaking about the eight-member boyband from Seoul, one photographer is heard saying: 'I've never seen so many unemotional faces in my life' before another brands the South Korean group 'robots'.

Furious fans of the K-Pop band, which consists of members Changbin, Hyunjin, Bang Chan, Lee Know, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N. and Han, took to X, formerly Twitter, to slam the photographers making the remarks, calling them 'unprofessional'.

The footage, which lasts just over a minute, sees the boyband arriving on the red carpet at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art as the iconic fashion event gets underway.

The stylish octet are then seen posing, stood several feet apart from each other, before they turn their backs on the paparazzi momentarily to remove their overcoats.

The South Korean stars then turn towards the gathered cameras once more to reveal their co-ordinated outfits for the fashion extravaganza.

However, their cool-as-ice demeanours didn't go down well with the waiting throng of photographers.

While one is heard politely shouting the South Korean word for 'thank you' - gam-sa-ham-ni-da - many of the other comments caught on the footage were branded 'harassing' and 'rude' by fans.

One photographer is heard saying in a tone filled with sarcasm: 'Alright guys, tone it down! Tone it down!' as he tries to goad them into being more expressive.

He then continues: 'What the f***? I've never seen so many unemotional faces in my life!'

A woman's voice is then heard saying: 'They're robots', to which the same male voice replies: 'Yeah, right'.

A groan erupts when the boys take their black coats off, with the same photographer shouting: 'Now we've gotta do it again. Now, let's do it with feeling!'

Another shouts: 'Go crazy! Everybody jump!'.

A voice is then heard saying: 'Look how far apart they are. I hate 'em'.

Eventually, Stray Kids turn and head up the stairs into the venue.

Moments after they depart the red carpet, two photographers are captured suggesting that people will assume there were 'two K-Pop bands' because they were photographed with their jackets both on and off, sparking outrage from followers of the band.

Many have raged at the band's treatment in the clip, calling it 'outrageous' and 'racist'.

One wrote: 'This is so unprofessional and disgusting.'

Another added: 'Every video I see the more rage I get. The racism, the unprofessionalism, who hired them??? I hope they are fired.

'And it’s their job to take PHOTOS not to be disrespectful to celebrities.'

An American who watched the video penned: 'Welcome to US paparazzi. They suck we know. Ask Britney Spears.'

Others called for action, saying: 'There needs to be consequences. They were racist and were purely harassing the boys.'

In London last month at the Olivier Awards, the show's host Hannah Waddingham called out a photographer on the red carpet after she was asked to 'show a leg.'

Video shared by a fan on X captured the moment the Ted Lasso star, 49, was posing outside the Royal Albert Hall before a photographer apparently requested she 'show leg.'

The photographer's remarks are inaudible but Hannah is seen shouting over to the crowd of photographers: 'Oh my God, you'd never say that to a man, my friend.'

As fans applauded her she then threatened to leave if the comments continued saying: 'Don't say "show me leg." No.'

The star later revealed on The One Show that the photographer had apologised to her.
