Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of May 12

Over the past day, 155 combat clashes took place at the front in Ukraine, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Frontline situation

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains unchanged. Signs of the enemy forming advancing groups have not been detected.

In theSiversk operational zone, in the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the adversary maintains military presence in border areas, conducts sabotage-reconnaissance activities, fires on populated areas from Russian territory, and increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the Ukrainian state border. The enemy conducted an airstrike in the vicinity of the city of Sumy.

In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy, supported by aviation, carried out 12 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Strilecha, Krasne, Morokhovets, Oliinykove, Lukyantsi, Hatyshe, Pletenivka, Pylna, Vovchansk, and Buhruvatka in the Kharkiv region. They inflicted aerial strikes in the areas of the settlements of Vilcha, Lyptsi, Lyman, Izbytske, Vesele, Petrivka, Kozacha Lopan, Synelnykove, Hlyboke, Shyroke, and Vovchanski Khutory in the Kharkiv region.

In the Kupiansk direction, our defenders repelled 19 attacks in the areas of the settlements Synkivka, Novoehorivka, Ivanivka in the Kharkiv region; and Stelmakhivka in the Luhansk region, where the enemy attempted to improve their tactical position and conducted aerial strikes in the areas of the settlements of Tverdokhlibove and Serhiivka in the Luhansk region.

In the Lyman direction, the defense forces repelled 10 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Makiivka, Nevske, and Serebrianske Forestry in the Luhansk region; Novosadove and Terny in the Donetsk region.

In the Siversk direction defense forces repelled 16 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region; Verkhniokamianske, Spirne, Vyimka, and Rozdolivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled 27 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Klishchiivka, Andriivka, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Hryhorivka, and Novyi in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, supported by aviation, attempted to improve their tactical position. Additionally, the adversary conducted an aerial strike in the vicinity of the settlement of Kurdiumivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Toretsk direction, the enemy did not engage in offensive (assault) actions. However, they carried out aerial strikes in the areas of the settlements of Pivnichne and New York in the Donetsk region.

In the Pokrovsk direction, the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled 32 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Semenivka, Kalynove, Novooleksandrivka, Yevhenivka, Sokil, Novopokrovske, Novoselivka Persha, Umanske, and Netaylove in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, supported by aviation, attempted to displace our units from occupied positions. Additionally, they conducted aerial strikes in the areas of the settlements of Karlivka, Mykolaivka, Oleksandropil, Stara Mykolaivka, Prohres, and Novohrodivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Kurakhiv direction, defense forces continue to restrain the enemy in the areas of the settlements of Kostiantynivka, Solodke, Krasnohorivka, and Vodiane, where the enemy, supported by aviation, attempted to break through the defense of Ukrainian forces 10 times.

On the Vremivka direction, the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled 16 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Urozhaine and Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, supported by aviation, attempted to displace our units from occupied positions.

In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy, supported by aviation, attacked the positions of our defenders twice in the area of Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region. Additionally, they conducted an aerial strike in the vicinity of the settlement of Storozheve in the Donetsk region and Mala Tokmachka in the Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Prydniprovske direction, the enemy persists in its intention to displace our units from the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro. During the past day, with the support of aviation, they carried out 5 unsuccessful attacks on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of the settlement of Krynky in the Kherson region. The adversary also conducted an aerial strike in the vicinity of the settlement of Antonivka in the Kherson region.

Russian attacks on Ukraine

Overall, the enemy launched 13 missile and 118 aerial strikes, and conducted 120 shelling incidents from multiple rocket launch systems on our troops' positions and civilian areas. Unfortunately, there are casualties among the civilian population due to Russian terrorist attacks. Multi-story and private houses, as well as other infrastructure objects, have suffered destruction and damage.

Ukrainian strikes on enemy positions

At the same time, Ukrainian forces continue to actively inflict losses on the occupying forces in terms of personnel and equipment, and exhaust the enemy along the entire front line of the conflict.

According to updated information, during the day, the aviation of the defense forces and missile troops units struck 3 anti-aircraft missile systems, 2 artillery pieces, 2 radar stations, and 9 areas of enemy personnel concentration.

Russian losses

Yesterday, May 11th, Ukrainian military forces eliminated another 1260 Russian occupiers.

Since the start of full-scale Russian invasion, Russia has lost approximately 482,290 personnel.

Additionally, the Ukrainian Armed Forces landed a Russian military aircraft. A Su-25 was shot down on the Avdiivka front.
