Europa League: It’s incredible to play for Nigeria – Lookman

Atalanta hero, Ademola Lookman says playing for Nigeria has helped him develop his game, DAILY POST reports.

Lookman scored all three goals as La Dea won their first trophy in 61 years after edging past Bundesliga champions, Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 in the Europa League final in Dublin on Wednesday night.

It was also “third time lucky” after Atalanta lost the Coppa Italia final 1-0 to Juventus a week ago, and Nigeria earlier lost the Africa Cup of Nations trophy.

The 26-year-old represented England at the youth levels before later switching allegiance.

“It’s incredible [to play for Nigeria]. The support and the love I get back home from the people is unbelievable,” he told the UEFA official website.

“It gives me the motivation to evolve in different areas – as a person, not just in my game.”
