Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of May 11

During the past day, there have been 104 combat clashes on the Ukrainian front, with Ukrainian forces repelling most attacks on the Avdiivka and Bakhmut directions, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Over the past day, the Russian army conducted 7 missile strikes and 108 air raids. They targeted Ukrainian positions and civilian areas with 120 rocket artillery attacks. Additionally, more than 120 populated areas in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions were under artillery fire.

Frontline situation

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains unchanged.

In the Siversk direction, the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts sabotage activities to prevent the transfer of our troops to threatening directions, and increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border.

In the Slobozhanske direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 9 attacks in the areas near the settlements of Strilecha, Krasne, Morokhovets, Oliinykove, Lukiantsi, Ohirtseve, Hatysche, and Pletenivka in the Kharkiv region.

In the Kupiansk direction, our defenders repelled 13 attacks in the areas of the settlements Synkivka, Berestove in the Kharkiv region; and Stelmakhivka in the Luhansk region.

In the Lyman direction, the Defense Forces repelled 11 attacks in the areas of the settlements Makiivka, in the Luhansk region, and Torske, in the Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, our soldiers repelled 18 attacks in the areas of the settlements Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region; Verkhniokamianske, Rozdolivka, Hryhorivka, Bohdanivka, Kalynivka, Vyimka, Klishchiivka and Andriivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, defenders repelled 24 attacks in the areas of the settlements Kalynove, Novooleksandrivka, Sokil, Umanske, in the Donetsk region.

In the Novopavlivka direction, the military continues to hold back the enemy near the settlements Krasnohorivka, southwest of Novomykhailivka and Solodke in the Donetsk region, where the enemy tried 3 times to break through the defense of our troops.

In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy attacked the positions of our defenders 14 times in the area of Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region and Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson direction, the enemy persists in its intention to dislodge our units from the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro. Thus, during the past day, they unsuccessfully attacked the positions of our troops once.

Losses of Russians

During the past day, Ukrainian aviation and missile units struck a Russian military command post, a fuel and lubricants depot, an anti-aircraft missile complex, and a radar station. Additionally, 18 areas with concentrations of enemy personnel were targeted.

Escalation in the Kharkiv region

It's worth noting that on the night of May 10, Russian forces attempted to breach the defense of Ukrainian troops in the northern part of the Kharkiv region. The attack was repelled, but fighting continues in the Kharkiv region.

According to analysts at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), a Russian advance on Kharkiv is considered unlikely. The enemy's goal is to stretch Ukrainian forces on the front line.
