Ukrainian Armed Forces try push back Russians near Hlyboke, 40 km from Kharkiv - General Staff

Ukrainian forces are attempting to push back the Russians in the direction of the village of Hlyboke in the Kharkiv region. It is located about 40 kilometers from Kharkiv and 10 kilometers from the Russian border, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

As noted, on the Kharkiv front, the enemy continues attempts to break through Ukrainian defenses. Since the beginning of the day, the occupiers have attacked Ukrainian positions twice near the towns of Lyptsi and Vovchansk, without success.

"Our defenders are trying to push back the enemy towards the village of Hlyboke," the statement says.

Over the past day on the Kharkiv front, the adversary has lost up to 200 personnel and 42 military vehicles. Since the start of this day, Russia's losses amount to 19 personnel and 10 military vehicles.

Intensification in Kharkiv region

Heavy fighting has been ongoing for a week in the northern part of the Kharkiv region. Occupiers are attempting to breach Ukrainian positions, particularly near the town of Vovchansk, which was liberated from Russian occupation in the fall of 2022.

According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, Russia has expanded the front by 70 kilometers. Military command states that the situation on the Kharkiv front is under control.

According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Russia's advance in northern Kharkiv region could mark only the first wave of enemy attacks.
